Evening desert safari Dubai

What to Expect on a Dubai Desert Safari

A desert safari is the quintessential Dubai experience. Here is everything first-timers need to know before heading out into the dunes.

Types of Desert Safari

Evening Desert Safari (most popular)

This is the classic Dubai experience. Your driver picks you up from your hotel in the afternoon, heads south through the Lahbab Desert, and you spend the evening at a Bedouin-style camp with dune bashing, camel rides, henna tattoos, BBQ dinner and live entertainment including Tanoura and belly dancing shows.

Morning Desert Safari

If you prefer cooler temperatures and softer morning light, the morning safari is a beautiful alternative. Dune bashing in the early hours, sand boarding, and a stunning breakfast in the desert as the sun rises.

VIP Desert Safari

For a more lavish experience, our VIP package adds extra shows, a premium camp setup, private seating areas and free shisha. Ideal for special occasions.

What Happens During Dune Bashing?

Your experienced driver deflates the tyres of the 4×4 for better grip on the sand, then drives through a series of steep dunes at varying speeds. It is thrilling, not terrifying, though those prone to motion sickness should take precautions.

Take any motion sickness medication at least 30 minutes before the safari starts, not after you begin feeling unwell.
